At Spud Valley Sporting Goods we are passionate about fishing in this area. It has some of the best stream and lake fishing in the entire corridor Vancouver - Whistler - Pemberton - Mount Currie and beyond... with lakes like the Lillooet, Birkenhead and Anderson for fishing from shore or by boat. Our rivers such as the Birkenhead, Lillooet and Ryan have both salmon and trout and very good access where fishing is available for both the expert and novice alike.

These rivers are easy to fish and do not require a need for a guide. Simply put - get your gear and enjoy your day. Spud Valley provides a wide selection of rental fishing gear if you don’t have your own. Most people fishing these streams for the first time enjoy considerable success and return many times.

Spud Valley has virtually the largest quantity and selection of quality trout and salmon flies and fly fishing equipment and apparel in the Sea to Sky corridor. Much like other aspects of our business, our staff have a passion for fishing. They use the equipment that we sell, and have grown to trust the dependability and performance of these products.

Our pros and staff fish and lakes and streams regularly and would like to remind you of the need to have your fishing licence and respect the regulations that require hook and release for all streams in Region 2 and of course to be as brief as possible when enjoying a photo opportunity with your catch.

If you must handle the fish, do so with your bare, wet hands (do not use gloves). Keep your fingers out of the gills, and don't squeeze the fish.  If you must lift a fish then provide support by cradling one hand behind the front fins and your other hand just forward of the tail fin.
